"Why should Turkey and Iran be so upset if a new country called Kurdistan is formed?" Because about a quarter of Turkey is 100% Kurds? That doesn't answer the question. Czechoslovakia became Czech Republic and Slovakia and things are fine there. Why can't Kurdistand and Turkey do something similar? Is there any other reason for Turkey to insist on holding onto the rebellious Kurdish regions other than Turkish pride?
