Back in the 1960's I could catch several 10 pound cod in the Clyde Estuary in about an hour or less. Same sea fishing quality over most of the world, including the island I grew up on. They used to be real fish that you could eat too.

Re DDT. I suppose it depends were you are on the food chain. I have it on good account, Maine's national bird, the mosquito, strongly objects to the re-introduction of DDT. When the mosquitos get the vote, Congress will make sure any such suggestion gets buried for good.

Seriously, it does depend where you are on the food chain.

I don't know where you are, but I'm near the top of the foodchain. I don't want DDT concentrated in my body. I would also like to see the results of a proper investigation into the macro effects of DDT on the fresh water marine environment before any such re-introduction. I think there is a fat zero chance of it happening.
