IF you ever spent a full winter in Lake Placid you wouldn't be making that statement! LOL Actually, I lived in Saranac Lake which is 10 miles west of Lake Placid and a small town called Westport NY, which is 50 miles East of LP on Lake Champlain.

-45 degrees F below gets old quickly!

I remember that one week the high was -24 F !!!

That's why so many northerners take their chances with hurricanes!
