He later admitted to all the rapes at his sentencing hearing, but invented more excuses: he blamed his victims for being "promiscuous" and his "strict cultural background", even that "Satanic voices" made him do it. It was all dismissed by Justice Hidden. "The whole of the offender's behaviour was consciously designed to prevent the proceedings being brought to finality. He presents as a man who is prepared to manipulate the system in any way he can to avoid facing the consequences of his crimes," the judge said. The brothers' father was not in court. A medical practitioner, he is under investigation by the NSW Medical Board, which has banned him from prescribing any drugs of addiction. He blames the media for his sons being jailed. The Director of Public Prosecutions is considering perjury charges against him and other family members for lying at the trials.
