There is a lot of support for socialist ideas, many of which are not ordinary called by that name but are still socialist in nature. I always thought I was a conservative. Now I find out I am a liberal. ROTFL Liberal in the sense of wanting a lot of freedom for people, not in the modern American political meaning of the term. Liberal sort of means the opposite of socialist in your case, why the modern American political meaning is something like "socialism lite" combined with a few other ideas.
