I am a conservative on several big issues. I believe in conserving what's most important in our democracy and world. I also believe in knocking out crime and terrorism ASAP without excuse. If I were president, Osama would have been dead four years ago, for instance.
I am a moderate on many issues, a progressive liberal on many and a radical on zero. Basically whatever stance makes the most sense and is the smartest and most honest way I go. Left-right is of secondary importance.
I am like John Kerry, slightly to the left of center, but tough and honest, caring and realistic. In general, I have nothing against Republicans, but the Bush-Delay Republicans are a noxious type, like the worst of Nixon without bthe competence.
In case you haven't noticed, I am often attacked by Moveon.org types who are to the left of me. I fought hard against Ralph Nader and also fought Howard Dean. I am not anti-war, I am anti stupid, wasteful wars based on lies.
The problem with the Bush-Limbaugh-Delay-Hannity GOP is that they are not real conservatives, they are radical in many ways and corrupt in almost all ways. It's the corruption and honesty issues which bug me the most, including the massive lying campaigns and taking money to let corporate pirates pollute and rob us. |
