Cramer is Cramer, singular.

I observe that folks in my parts buy a bit of gold, 24k preferred, as jewelry and as decorative pieces, so in a pinch, can be off-loaded, though few intend to off-load unless in dire circumstances.

I note that 24k is soft, can be deformed through biting and constant wearing, but folks still prefer it. It is not as if they actually wear the bangles and such on everyday basis.

I comment, as to folks around me not trusting governments, true, and as to trusting USD, it is a relative thing that is wearing very thin.

Regarding KRY / Venezuela, I would shy away from what Cramer recommends, because he is singular, and because I believe he is wrong.

I understand that democracy is working 24/7 at accelerated pace in Venezuela per reports from cousins, and the society is going in the wrong direction as far as the middle class is concerned.

I fear the same action will, by and by, put down deeper and more widespread roots in USA, and we will see democracy in more shock and awe action against the middle class in your parts.
