The Iraqi war is already a terrible, costly mess and lost case which has made us less safe and secure.

So time to judge Bush now. With an F grade.

If Iraq settles itself ten years from now under another president that doesn't count a bit for Bush. No more than Vietnam as a settled country now reflects well on LBJ and Nixon.

Cheney told us the war would be over within weeks or months.
Bush's PR stunt sign said the mission was accomplished. And Bushies promised us the whole thing would be paid for by Iraqi oil. None of that was remotely true.

Instead it's a debacle turned disaster turned hopeless mess and nobody gives a damn what Bush, Cheney and Rice say about it anymore. Since there is no military solution and they refuse to change course, it has become a hopeless quagmire chewing up US troops and hemmoraging US debt. But Halliburton and Exxon did win. They won big-time. They even get off from paying taxes or being held accountable for gouging us.
