Breakouts to multi-year highs are occurring this morning in gold, silver, copper, platinum and palladium. Crude is above 67. We will likely see some gap up opens in resource stocks. When this happens to stocks that we are already trading to the long side (lucky us), what are some ways to maximize profits, control emotions etc.? For swing trades, do we still sell half at the first profit target and put a trailing stop under the rest? I'm holding my long term trades for some ambitious targets, like RGLD to the recent high near 42. But the short term stuff sets off the old greed vs fear confusion. Maybe coffee will help. tia
