Lunatics like him really do give scientists a bad name.

He an ideologue first (and an extreme ideology at that) and a scientist second.

He is also largely speaking out of his field, which means he has no more information than an educated layman (and in his case perhaps less). He might be an "evolutionary ecologist", but apparently his primary study is lizards. People are a more than a little different. And there is no reason to consider him an expert and politics, economics, energy production, etc.
