I've been saying we can't afford to deport illegals all along. The reason we practice "catch and release" is because 1) they don't have enough detention facilities, and 2) the appeal process can take a very long time.

This may well be the reason that some are advocating making first offense unlawful entry a felony -- so they can make use of county jails, which are already overcrowded as it is.

Or they could build camp-like facilities -- which will, of course, be called "Concentration Camps" by opponents, terrible PR.

There's no magic bullet. Enforcement is going to be expensive and it's going to be ugly.

You'll see families being torn apart on network TV every night.
