Wade day +3 in your account, tax pay on register date of the order.
Hence a sale on Wed 12th would allow you to transfer for the taxes.
The point I make is that week-end papers traders would wait till this week-end to decide, and have plenty of time left in the week .
Huge portfolios would have settled R- or quant some months ago.
Now, as program trading accounts for more then 70% of markets activity, in how far would the late sellers have any influence on the markets?

This time it is different: the game now is program trading the indexes, private investors who could have an influence on market's prices have become a minority.

Still, I am sitting on white coal as they say here.

While I have to decide if PM equities will be thrown away with the baby's bath, ar remain the last "safe harbour".

Two minor speculative positions in my port, CLG.TO and GRZ.TO tell me there is more to come.

Then, inflation is a two edged knife: if Dollar goes lower, so will the mining costs. To such a point that, given gold price rises, some properties will come back to life, resulting in a susrplus in gold production vs. current deficit.

Aaaarg! should have chosen another way to pay for my cigars.
