re: Since they pay the lion's share of the taxes they benefit more in terms of total dollars from almost every major tax cut. And they get hurt more from almost every tax increase.

That would be true if the tax rates oscillated around at a much higher level. It has nothing to do with the the fairness of current tax rates and little to do with the fairness or appropriateness of the most recent tax cuts.

It has a lot to do with relative vs. absolute. The middle, lower middle, and lower classes didn't get much in Bush's tax cuts. The upper classes got a fortune (compared to anyone else) from the tax cuts. They really didn't need it, some other folks need it a lot more.

If you really think government tax policy should be that the rich get $100,000's richer each year, while the poor get a few $Bucks a month, maybe an extra gallon of gas a week, go ahead and advocate that. Say what you mean; that's the net effect.

To me you are just a phoney neo-con Republican Bush kiss ass that believes that every subsidy to the rich is good and screwing the poor is "heroic conservatism". That libertarian dog don't hunt... it's all about party dogma not libertarian.
