So let's not forget that BOTH Islam and the Jewish religion are political movements dressed up in transcendental clothes -- both seek earthly rewards for spiritual beliefs. And, indeed, for a long time so did Christianity. In fact, George Bush would still like the see the US as a fundamentalist Christian country.

Would you please elaborate on just exactly what so-called Christianity "for a long time" sought earthly rewards?
