Hi Thomas; thanks for the welcome, Man I've been busy, had to renew my Radar and Marine Radio tickets, and that has eaten up 2/3rd of my time off. I see Vupda inching back up, I've got a cost base of 3-11/16th so I'm comfortable for the time being. I averaged down when she hit 3-1/6th, then sold that parcel to limit my exposure to 1000 shares, but it reduced my base cost. -------------------------------- I'm bidding moov at 2-7/16th..I see she closed at 2-3/8 but I didn't get any ? it may be because I use the all or none on my orders..to avoid extra commisions.. --------------------------------------- Can you tell me about the VUPDZ warrents, when can you exersize them and at what price..I have never bought warrents..aren't they sort of like call options ? ---------------------------------- Some people do not think the VUPDA-MOOV buy out is good, as MOOV shows losses..but I don't think thoes losses are enough to really hurt her going forward. MOOV is selling at about half book value and that is what I'm looking at. Both VUPDA and MOOV are good value type plays..if they combine then operating cost go down a lot, and they get better deals buying in quanity. In the long run VUPDA has to grow it's base or get gobled up. Small chains take a back seat and have a hard time compeating aginst Blockbusters..only a few small low overhead mom pop stores in a good location can make any money aginst the clout the big companies have. It's like you have to be real small, or get real big..there is no room in the middle, so I still want to see the VUPDA..MOOV deal go through..or I will likly dump out of both of them. ----------------------------------- I will be leaving Tueday for another month, had a nice trip last go round, hope the weather holds out for a while more. -------------------------------------- Man they are drilling, putting up oil platforms and running pipelines in the gulf like a popcorn popper going off. The little ole pass "BELL PASS" use to be kinda slow and easy it's now the busyest going..day and night it seems there are always 4 or more vessels going and coming at any time. Oil companies are sure spending some of that windfall profit they hid last year when oil was $25 a bbl. ------------------------------------------ Jim |
