Perhaps Shalom isn't as "diplomatic" as you would like, but can't we all get along (as someone said during an out of control riot)?
Shalom is, as you are, entitled to his views and there is nothing to dictate how he should express them. I see no cause for such furious anger (if I'm reading the tone wrong, please correct me) - it seems to clash with what you choose to express.
I remember 27 years ago when I first became a Christian. One of the people I wrote to, full of my new enthusiasm and quoting Scripture in every paragraph, was my grandmother. Every verse in the Bible was a new discovery; I simply wanted to share my joy and hardly knew which way to leap for joy. After a few letters like that, my grandmother didn't respond in anger, but pointed out to me that she would like to hear about me, the family, etc and that she could read her Bible without me having to write all those verses in such abundance.
She had a point - loving one another doesn't exclude Bible verses, but should include personal information and communication appropriate to the person being written to. Even Paul the Apostle included some personal information in the letters that are included in the New Testament.
