Patrick,

I needed to make a correction to what I wrote in the previous post--in regard to an 80 Mcf well it could essentially double the size of the bottom line for the company. what I should have said was "it could come close to doubling the size of the company."

In respect to the PE ratio. Trailing earnings are $1.75, so the PE at the current price of $17/share is less than 10. However if you take this quarter's earnings into consideration, then we would be looking at $1.75 minus this quarter last year (0.45) plus the earnings this quarter, which, I think because of increased exploration expenses and a lower price per barrel for oil, probably won't be good; I am guessing 0.11, which would then make the trailing earnings $1.41 and the PE at a price of $17 would be 12. This week's market is ignoring this and looking ahead to the 4th quarter of this year, and the 1st and 2nd quarter of 1998, where there is a chance of having big earnings; the future possibilities determine the price of an oil stock.
