I have posted this article to show you the dissenting opinion (if someone is actually reading this). Mr. Befumo means well, but I certainly do not agree with his concluding paragraph, and I would not expect such misled thinking from Motley Fool, but I guess no one is perfect.

His argument was that the market should add value to companies like Dell that are starting to do much of their business over the Internet, or it should devalue stocks that do 100% of their business over the Internet, such as Onsale.

This is essentially the wrong way to think about it. Why? Because companies such as Onsale (or Amazon) are valued so richly because they are rapidly taking business away from the traditional channels as more consumers turn to the Internet. The thing about a company like Dell is that they are taking business away from themselves when people buy a Dell computer through the Internet. 99% of people buying Dells through the Internet would have bought a Dell anyway. The rise of the Internet does add to the growth of these companies, whereas the growth of the Internet is the whole concept that companies like Onsale are based on, and they have much to gain as the World gets wired. It's tomorrow's new economy just starting up, and companies like Onsale are the early leaders.
