We've updated imperialism, and fascism. They don't look like they used to. We've shed the onerous weight of the indigenouos populations and offshored that duty to pliable puppet governments composed of locals that depend on us for their wealth, power and sometimes their lives. We just want to make sure that OUR corporations have the first bite at whatever resources are THERE, and maybe the second and third bite too.

Our fascism, the unholy merging of government and corporations, has lost a lot of the ugly racism of past fascism. We aren't building ovens, and have only started to build concentration camps. But the tight synchrony of government, corporations and the military is in place. The military build up, as Germany did prior to WW II, is already done, thanks to our never having "built down" after the cold war.

All we need is the leader to inspire us to attempt to conquer the world. I think it was supposed to be the chimp Caesar - but he has proven to be a great disappointment to his backers. A failure not just for America, but to his neocon dreamers as well.
