What/Who are you quoting in this post? IKE and JFK had little to do with the war. Big escalation was under LBJ and it is doubtful that IKE would have undertaken it after Korea and we all do like to think JFK would have backed off, particularly after the failed Bay of Pigs attack where the the value of intel and military advice alone proved wrong and CBM in 1962 where the world almost blew up.
