Got the first part of the new garden plowed. 50' x 120'. It is a bitch. Got in about 4" on the first 3 passes. Let it sit for a few days and then checkerboard it. The tractor pulls the disk assembly just fine. Yesterday was the first 60 degree day and the ground is still saturated 6" down. Will take another week to dry out enough to penetrate a bit further. Should have done this in the fall. Think I will burn one in honor of the sun. May do a naked sun dance around the fire this evening. My seeds are sprouted and broke the surface of the soil in the flats. First little leaves look scrumptuous. 4 weeks to sexing. They go to the secret garden. I had a long talk with a cottontail this morning and he informed me that he was going to eat my greens if I liked it or not. I told him he would die trying and laughed. He said that if that was the case I was not gonna get much sleep because he worked nights. So I took a bit of rabbit fencing over and showed it to him. He just laughed. I gave in and told him I was gonna overplant and he was welcome to a bit as long as he did not get greedy or invite his cousins over. He seemed agreeable and I believe we have worked out a workable solution to the problem. We shall see. I don't trust him but am willing to give it a try. Still going to use the rabbit fence but I agreed to not shoot him...... Deadeye
