"James, the Temple being measured is the Temple in heaven. The temple on earth was a copy of the Temple in heaven.
The generation that sees these things will not pass away until all these things take place means the generation that's alive and sees the "signs of the times" start that Jesus describes in Matt. 24. That generation will not pass away means God is going to start the end and finish it in that same generation. It does not mean the generation that saw the 2nd Temple destroyed because that has nothing to do with the end times." Sidney ______________________________________________________________
I don't agree with the idea of a heavenly temple because John is told NOT to measure the parts of the Temple that will be occupied by the Gentiles. (Romans)
Also other revelant verses establishes "that generation" as the generation that they were then living in.
Rev 11 say John is given a "reed like a rod"(iron reed) to measure the city. The city given to Gentiles for 42 months is describing the final 3 1/2 year tribulation period.
1 "And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown." Rev 3:11
Rev 21 Then God gives him a vision of the "new Jerusalem"
"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." Rev 21:1
This time the Angel talking to him has a "golden reed" that he beging to measure the "new Jerusalem"
5 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel." Rev 21: 15,16,17
Then in Rev 22: is the evidence that God is coming so quickly that precious little time is left. Read on...
10 "And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Rev 22:10-12
He is also told NOT to seal the book of Revelation. In Daniel the angel tells him to seal the prophesy because it was 400 years off. Now think of this rationally. Why would John be told NOT to seal the book if the Tribulation was 2000 years plus from happening? It is because the Tribulation was then about to happen quickly providing further evidence that this book was written before 70 AD when the DESTRUCTION of Jerusalem took place.
