Kemble, not last year but the year before that, 1995, Dell announced a stock split in the middle of an earnings period. There is a historical record for it. Dell usually announces a split when the price gets above $80. With Dell near $100 a split could come anytime. I have a theory that is a little wild. Dell announcement date may depend on when Compaq announces their split. Compaq is due and will get the attention of investors when they announce. If Compaq does announce soon I am going to say Dell will not wait until the next earnings report but will bring their guns to bear on the USS Compaq. Pat
