60 Minutes did a piece today on the murder of an Iraqi general during an interrogation. He was covered in a sleeping bag, straddled and then had a hand put over his mouth.

Apparently he suffocated.

At some point it did seem as if the world was becoming more civilized but the tide has turned backwards and we are becoming a more violent, less civilized, less thoughtful world. It is truly sad for the next generations, to have to be saddled with this. I hope they can improve upon it because it will be chaos and a nightmare otherwise.

Perhaps 6.5 billion human beings is too much for this planet. I think Ted Turner said that the population had tripled just during his lifetime. We may be like rats in a cage. At some point the population becomes so large that the crowding causes terrible behavior in the rats. They fight, they cannibalize each other, they do terrible things to themselves from the stress.

It's time to look at the world's population of human beings and consider that, like global warming, there is a tipping point where we become overcrowded on this planet and that we're at each other's throats. I think that point was probably a few billion people ago.
