"A recent forecast by Alexander Resources on Wi-Fi estimates that worldwide WLAN service revenues will top $9.5 billion by 2007, with majority of the service revenues coming from business users in airports, hotels and exhibition centers. However, it also predicts that revenue contributions from residential customers could substantially increase as the use of cell phones, PDAs, and other mobile devices proliferate, from within these WLANs. It is within this strategy that the Calypso ASNAP cell phones fits. While most Wi-Fi operators will likely focus on almost exclusively on business users, we at Calypso believe that business and residential users will quickly find our technology attractive for their needs. This is especially true because Calypso’s ASNAP provides THE ONLY SOLUTION for the convergence of users inside the WLANs with their cellular network.

Quoting an independent source, 802.11 Planet publication recently reiterated the fact that only the availability of Wi-Fi access and roaming with key mobile operators and WISPs will produce winners. 802.11 Planet was inadvertently putting out a challenge to system integrators to create this opportunity. Calypso’s ASNAP™ already provides this solution for mobile operators, ISPs, and WISPs to move quickly and adopt the technology for their users.

Therefore, Calypso’s ASNAP™ technology is ready to begin affecting our industry through the evolution of Wi-Fi, and high-speed broadband wireless Internet access for voice, video and more robust data services, as well as the final convergence with mobile operators’ cellular systems".
