"In Western Europe, the overall broadband market is expected to grow from $2 billion in 2001 to around $24 billion by the end of 2006 (IDC). Broadband use in the U.S. surged 59% in 2002 (CNET News.com). In Japan, broadband usage is expected to jump from 7 million subscribers in 2003 to more than 18 million subscribers in 2006 (IDC Japan). In many parts of the rest of the world, growth rates for broadband implementation are equally as exciting.
