LBJ was no friend of JFK. He was a Halliburton type crony. It was then called Brown + Root and was the biggest profiteer off the Vietnam War.

LBJ was pro war in Vietnam and JFK was not. It is very possible LBJ collaborated with rightwing forces like Hoover and the black ops CIA types, as well as certain rich Texas oil millionaires, to get rid of Kennedy on his home turf. But to finish the job they needed to get rid of Oswald too. Hoover could have called on then mob for a favor, since he was protecting them from RFK. So enter Jack Ruby.

LBJ like his pal Connelly is the Bushie type. If he had lasted in politics, he might have switched parties. Remember in the 60's there were still many Dixiecrat conservatives in the DEm party, and the ones in Texas were in deep with big oil. However, the plot could have been carried out without LBJ's direct help. Maybe a wink though because look who ascended to the throne.
