Hersh was one of a bunch of folks who "broke" Abu Ghraib, a bunch which includes CBS and the dear departed Mary Mapes.
Trifles, I know, but your veneration of Hersh will never cease.
The fact of the matter is that Abu Ghraib was such a big story, someone was eventually going to break it.
In point of actual unadulterated fact, the military issued a press release on February 15, 2004 in which it referred to Abu Ghraib problems. Hersh and The New Yorker didn't publish until May.
Trifles, I know.
Since you seem to think that resignations will follow thanks to our plans to nuke Iran, are you willing to bet a pound of greasy Texas BBQ? We need a time limit, I suggest six weeks from today.
One way or another, a chance to put your BBQ where your mouth is. vbg
PS: Plastering Josh Marshall, the ultimate partisan hack, all over this thread IMO is a breach of an attempt to keep it more or less nonpartisan. Feel free to do so, not my call, just an opinion. |
