In France the students got an innocuous piece of employment legislation dropped and now fueled by their success are continuing their protests for more worker and union rights. In the US millions of immigrants (both legal and illegal) have peacefully protested what they consdider to be the draconian laws being proposed by some republicans in congress. In the US in the 60s millions protested against the war in vietnam and eventually got the policy changed.

With 30% approval ratings as you point out, hundreds, sometimes a couple of thousand occasionally oppose the war in iraq. Doesnt that strike you as strange? Regardless of how we feel about the folks above, they did take action and have had/are having results. Whats wrong with americans that even those as opposed to the war as Clifford spend the day on the computer rather than on the street protesting the war. Again without commenting on policy this will do us in as a nation. This is where we are not excersising our freedoms, except of course for our immigrants who seem to have the balls to take the constitutional seriously as relates to freedom of speech, and assembly. .
