"they could build that pipeline to a thermal power station locally "

Where is that local thermal power source?

At present production levels, when will Iran's oil run out? 30-50 years at present levels. may well be less.

How long does it take to bring a nuclear power plant based electricity system for 68 million Iranians on line(20,000 megawatts)? 10 years? 20 years?

"Esmaeili: We have many strategic, technical, technological, economic and environmental reasons for seeking nuclear expertise. We are strategically aware that, according to recent studies by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), after the elapse of some 19 years, that is by the year 2025, all fossil fuel reserves in the world will be considered as the “strategic reserves”.

From then on, and in such a situation, we would be compelled to keep our strategic fossil fuel reserves for our own use. We should neither export it nor burn it to generate energy. Therefore, considering both Iran’s possession of major (reserves) of nuclear natural resources, such as uranium, and national nuclear fuel-producing expertise, it would not be wise to neglect these capabilities and deprive the Iranian nation and future generations of a permanent benefit.
