If I remember correctly there are no more 'wild' lions because they really all live in parks. Add in extinct (drowned) polar bears, whales, non-PCB laced fishies of all kinds plus the gazillion unknown species mowed down in the Amazon rainforest. I've always thought it was interesting that due to human agriculture (lots of the exact same crop on acre after acre of land), we're making it much easier for insect pests to thrive. We're providing them easy munching. I wonder if this is true of viruses, bacteria, etc. By killing diversity everywhere and making everything (including us) the same the world over, a single virus or bacteria could just sweep through without a hitch. We really do lots of things to harm ourselves...we are a strange species LOL.
