He didn't say corruption was confined to Republicans. He said this particular situation is part of the culture of Republican corruption. I figure there is plenty of corruption to go around and that the Republicans have their niche just like every other major group. Currently Republicans are the strongest group representing the greatest political force the world has seen in recorded history ... and you know what kind of stuff comes from that kind of power. However, it did seem like he was implying Republicans are more corrupt than Democrats. If that's what he meant, I agree with you about the ridiculousness of the statement.
