I do not know exactly what caused the price hike...
It is obvious that SASAMAT today has nothing in common with the old company:
- The underevaluation is evident
- Mr. Smit (formerly Bancorp, today KHDH) is certainly aware of that. What could he do to take advantage from that situation? a) buy shares (what he certainly did in the past - COULD have caused some price hikes...), b) try nasty games, such as the fall ´05 event, where he tried to provide a loan to SASAMAT in order to obtain shares at the current (too low) price - without raising the price at the stock exchange and investors eyebrows. As he got stopped by minority shareholders (I wonder who was able to do that to him - a single person or an organised group?? Anybody information on this???) he could either now start buying shares or try just another bad move. Investing in SASAMAT means a bet on his disability (or unwillingness?) to do such a trick... And this is where Canadian law comes into the game and where I am lost... Would be great if anybody could research that...
