WFI Wins Global Combat Support System (GCSS) Award Valued at Approximately $10 Million
Wednesday April 12, 8:00 am ET
Company Part of Team to Work on Software Development and Integration (SDI) Project

SAN DIEGO, April 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- WFI (Nasdaq: WFII - News), a global leader in the design, deployment, and management of wireless communication networks, information technology solutions and security systems, announced today that it has been selected to work with a major government contractor to provide software development and integration services for the Global Combat Support System (GCSS). WFI's portion of the contract has an estimated potential value of approximately $10 million over a 4 year period of performance.

The work awarded under a subcontract with the prime systems integrator for the project provides system engineering and development support for GCSS. As a part of an Integrated team, WFI will provide information systems and software engineering expertise, DoD Logistics subject matter expertise, systems testing support and task management services spanning the breadth of the GCSS mission. This work will result in the installation of the GCSS system at strategic server locations, supporting the combatant commands, their components, and other activities as designated and prioritized by the joint staff J4 and the GCSS program manager (PM).

GCSS supports the combatant commands and joint task forces (JTF) by supplying read-only access to comprehensive combat support (CS) information from authoritative data sources. This access provides the warfighter with a single, end-to-end capability to manage and monitor units, personnel and equipment through all stages of the mobilization process. By providing access to high-level integrated information and decision support tools, GCSS enhances the ability of combatant commands and JTF commanders to make timely, informed decisions.

"This important software development contract will allow us to continue to improve the ability of combatant commanders, their components and JTF commanders to provide mission critical logistics support to the warfighter," said Robin Mickle, President of WFI Government Services, Inc. "It also provides an opportunity to assist the DoD in its movement towards Net-Centric Enterprise Services (NCES) and Services Oriented Architecture (SOA)."

Eric DeMarco, WFI's President and CEO commented on the GCSS Award, "The GCSS win is another step forward in our strategy to build the Company's Government Division, which typically includes longer-term contract vehicles and overall added stability and predictability to WFI's business model."

WFI's Government Division has supported the Global Combat Support System Project Management Office since 2000, successfully transitioning multiple new capabilities into GCSS, including the Joint Logistics query tool, Watchboard, Order of Battle, and Transportation Force Closure capabilities.

WFI Government Services, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of WFI with offices and project locations throughout the United States. Areas of expertise include technical resources consulting, logistics and RFID solutions, homeland security and public safety applications and integrated network services.
