Re: How does Intel manage to sell any of their inferior product to H-P?

Store shelves across the world would be mostly empty if people only bought the "superior" product. If AMD and Intel could magically have been able to switch fab capacity and advertising budgets over the past few years AMD would probably have 50+% of the market now.

I really would like to know whether the better Turion technology will result in higher notebook share for AMD ? Notice I already agree Turion is better. But will pricing allow Intel to keep share?

Notice I talked about desktop and server superiority, not mobile. Dothan was already a very good product and Core is even better. Intel will have a headstart on dual-core mobiles with Core Duo and Turion X2 clock frequency will be somewhat limited by the 90-nm architecture. Turion partially offsets those weaknesses with a marketing boost with 64-bit support. I believe Turion X2 performance will help solidify the gains AMD has already made, but won't do much to extend their gains further. AMD's aggressive pricing rather than performance is responsible for much of the Turion market share gains in my opinion.
