Of course....

And, I believe that transformational doctrine to be valid for purposes of more effectively fighting modern wars.

But that DOESN'T MEAN that it's smaller force structure works for OCCUPYING large, populous, and turbulent countries!

I believe that - with respect to OCCUPATIONS - the traditional US military's wisdom about the force structure that is desirable (as expressed by ex Army Chief of Staff Gen. Eric Shinseki before the war) as proven to be MORE CORRECT.

And, I believe it's important to recognize the distinctions between the two conditions: Rummie's 'smaller, more mobile, higher tech' force structure is applicable for FIGHTING modern war --- but NOT of occupying hostile foreign territories.
