Actually, housing NEEDS to go down. The average person can't afford a home in my neck of the woods,(south Florida). In six years the value of my home has gone from $150,000 to about half a million. Great for me? Well, I don't want to sell, I need to stay in the area. If I moved to a smaller home, the taxes would kill me.
The Florida legislature is considering a bill to "help" public employees ( police teachers etc) afford homes. What about the rest of the workers?
What we need is a housing correction, plain and simple. There have been other bubbles, that have corrected, and we survived....
