But many people do it any way. Many view the Hispanics as non-whites because they are.

For years, Europeans have enjoyed making fun of the US's racial problems suggesting that they are above all that nonsense. Of course, things grow quiet when you ask about their Romanish population........and the Arabs certainly have proved to be an embarrassment to France.

If its not the color of their skin, then Europeans must treat the Romanish, the Arabs and the Turks badly for other reasons......reasons probably way over the head of American savages like us.

Race relations in the US are complex and not nearly as,umm, black and white as Gustave has been portraying them.

I think the same could be said about race relations in Europe as well.
