First off, you have not properly discerned the correct understanding of the word "generation" in the context that the Lord was using. That is your first mistake.
The word generation can have many different meanings, just like many of the other words in the Bible.
Here is just a small sample of verses where the meaning of the word "generation" can be interpreted entirely different than the way you choose to interpret it to suit your preterist doctrine.
The people of God, Christians, are all accounted for a generation. This does not mean a space of forty years or some specific timeframe.
There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous. (Psalms 14:5)
A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. (Psalms 22:30)
This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. (Psalms 24:6)
His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. (Psalms 112:2)
There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. (Proverbs 30:11-14)
You see? Generation does not always mean a specific time period. An entire group of people, from many different time periods, can be accounted for as a generation.
Secondly, there is nothing in the Creed which is contrary to Scripture.
