Good morning Curly,

I was just reading the local paper here in St. Charles, Illinois, low and behold who do I see in the biz. section none other then Mr. Gary Seamans, WSTLs CEO. He lives right by my store Discs and Dats, I bet he has been in to buy Compact Discs. ( Shamless self promotion I couldn't help myself) They have a picture of him at the top of the article, get this, it has a British Union Jack in the back ground. Hummmm. Below I will list some of his quotes from the article.

"This isn't Silicon valley yet., Seamans said, "I think it will grow to that"
(they call this area west of Chicago "Silicon Prairie" thats is because of MOT, COMS/USRX, TLAB, Teltrend, WSTL, Spy Glass, and Lu (Bell Labs), Ameritech, and a number of other smaller firms are located close by each other. )

He is a 10 year Westell veteran, started when the company had 150 employees, now they have 800. He worked for AT&T and MCI.

"Our revenues were one tenth of what they are now"

He called ASDL. "It's l ighting over your phone lines"

He predicts that it will be 30 to 40 years , at least, before fiber optics will be available to every home and business in the US. (I think it will be sooner then that)

Seamans claims that 50% of rev. go into R and D.

"There are 800 Million copper access lines in the world today" Seamans calculated, one percent share of that copper line market would constitute $5 Billion in revenue. (you have to like that number)

Last quote in the article; " This is what World War III is all about. Access to information" ( I like that attitude Mr. Seamans)

There is also a picture of a pick and place machine. The caption called it MASSIVE.

There you have it. Take care.

Greg
