Kenneth E. Phillipps why are lying to yourself and all of us. The retired Generals and the not retired Generals are always second guessing everything. That is the job description. A consensus of the most likely wild ass guess is decided upon. That's the way it works. The War effort in Iraq was amazing. The rebuilding had some false starts. But no case has been made the more troops and all the support required to protect thousands of additional targets would in anyway have speed rebuilding or decreased the number killed. IEDs kill by numbers. More targets means more deaths. It's just like shop lifting. More stores means more shoplifting.
