"Sorry, don't bother showing me Intel-based machines. My app requires AMD."

CRAY said that. CRAY's super computer clients said that.

The Opteron with AMD64 and glueless cHTT allowed for a new kind of super computer.

You set up the absurd question of why hasn't AMD come out with an architecture no one else can build. Well, here's the answer.

We have AMD to thank for 64-bit x86 compatible afforable systems that does not make billions of $ of software applications obsolete. Without AMD64, we'd all have to invest God-knows how much money, blood, sweat, and tears, into converting to monopolistic AI64. Thank God for the capitalist system and competition!

INTC copied AMD64 and labeled it EMT64.
They wish they could copy cHTT but there are these things called patents and licenses.
