My sense while there was that young Chinese are outwardly well behaved, as are most Chinese generally. There was little evident "rap culture". The only poor manners shown (epidemic), were from those behind the wheel of a car, and a propensity to cut into waiting standing lines. According to my Chinese girl friend, people in the north will get into street fights, and she kept alerting me that one could happen, but I only saw a small one, and it didn't escalate.
