Is there any study of it for PC's ? I totally doubt that.

Just to put your % figure in perspective, for sure AMD does not have 50% of the PC market, regardless of the claimed power efficiency. So either AMD does not have advantage in power efficiency (false) or the 50% figure is not proved (the only remaining possibility).

and yet lots of in-efficient processors are sold in notebooks. Possibly because other considerations might outweigh.
