JF, For what? So that citizens at the low end of the wage scale are not working poor... so that they can live a decent life and afford to have children.

I can see it now. A cop is stationed at the local "day laborer camp." Someone drives up and hires an illegal immigrant, and the cop slaps the handcuffs on the employer. Then he tells the illegal immigrant (perhaps in Spanish), "This is for your own good so that you can live a decent life and afford to have children."

You can spare me the "straw man" accusation, because the bottom line is all about union-style protectionism.
