I agree with all you say except the strategy part, which Microsoft has the luxury of being able to do. Bundle it for free until your competition basically goes out of business, or make it into a suite where each component is basically discounted 75%, ex. Borland, WordPerfect, Software Publishing,. That takes alot of brains. My hat is off to them, they don't play by the rules and that is why Novell, Apple and others will fade away unless they use this same attitude. A company like Netscape will prevail because they understand how Microsoft markets and will maintain a role of direct marketing.
