these kids could have been any race. I expect from single parents,no parents or abusive parents. perhaps never brought up with some type of religious background in the family.

Lack of family togetherness resulting in these kids being brought up by other kids in the neighborhood. No social structure in the area for kids to join organizations like boy scouts, soccer leagues, volunteer work, and i expect total lack of discipline in schools and home.

However, this is no different than back in 50'/60's. I remember many situations like the above growing up in my neighborhood.
