Outside the shrinking circles of the pro-Bush faithful, the credibility gap just keeps getting wider. And the faithful really don't seem to grasp why it is happening. That's the byproduct of ardent partisan belief in the face of many incidents to the contrary.

I remember the Democratic Party faithful cheering Mondale in 1984, oblivious to the buzz saw he was walking right into.
