a couple years ago The Atlantic ran a wargame analysis (involving military analysts, generals, etc.) re: Iran and the unanimous conclusion was that US could NOT bomb Iran without dire consequences. they just did an update of this analysis which shows the situation is even worse for the US. Iran has at least doubled the number of target sites (to a minimum of 24), and even if the US nukes all these sites (not that they even have a comprehensive list to work with), it would at most delay Iran's going nuclear by a couple of years. in the meantime, it would result in a huge guerilla uprising in Iraq (al-Sadr has already pledged Mahdi Army support against US) and will likely lead to the nuking (or dirty bombing) of a US city.

how lucky we are to have a dismal failure of a human being leading our country at this critical juncture...
