It is part of a complex problem. We have encouraged Mexicans to enter our country illegally. We have built our economy on the results. If we secure our borders is the next step a sweep to round up and deport these criminal aliens?

"The first thing to do IMMEDIATELY is SECURE the borders. Same time, make sure we have people or drones to help with the Security!!!

Then decide how many LEGALS should be coming in"

We need to allow INS to enforce employment laws. The current state of affairs is political pressure is being applied to prevent enforcement of employment verification laws. When INS has done audits, the businesses call their Congresspersons, who call INS and complain. Even when INS has done it fairly and targeted an entire industry rather than picking winners, political pressure is used to block it.

The law provides for a $10,000 penalty for each incident of illegal hiring assessed against the employer. When is the last time it was levied?

If criminal trespassers are prevented from benefiting from their criminal activities, the next wave will stay home. Better border enforcement is important, but there is much that must be done.

If INS staked out Home Depot's parking lots and levied fines for the people who drive by and pick up a few illegal immigrants it would cause a dramatic decrease in the activity. With no income, they might prefer to go home.
